Second Sunday in June is Decoration Day
Decoration day is just around the corner. Please consider coming one day to help clean off the graves.
Donations last year weren't enough to cover increasing fuel and maintenance costs so much of the cleanup is left to volunteers.
These are our people here, let's honor them by pitching in and making this old historical cemetery a beautiful place for our ancestors.

NOTE: On April 1, of each year, our crew picks up and discards the flowers on the graves in preparation for Decoration Day on the Second Sunday in June.

Davis Cemetery is a historic place in Walker County. It is located on the Dora-Cordova road adjacent to the Dora Second Baptist Church. Families in the Dora area have laid their loved ones to rest in this peaceful shady place for many, many years.
Veterans from the Civil War along with soldiers who fought in both World Wars, Korea and Vietnam are buried here.

There are two sections to the cemetery. The old sections contains graves over a hundred years old. The new section is owned by Davis Cemetery Inc. a non-profit group which manages the sales and maintenance of the cemetery. Information about available lots, pricing, and other helpful information can be found by clicking on the links to the left.
